Our State-of-the-Art Dental Equipment
Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery for Animals has state-of-the-art equipment. We have the most advanced anesthesia monitoring equipment, anesthetic machines, and digital dental x-ray systems.
In order to keep our patients safe, we require current pre-anesthetic blood testing (complete blood count and a biochemistry profile). For those patients that do not come to us we those necessary lab test we have our own in-house laboratory that can produce results in a matter of minutes.
Advanced CBCT and VetCATIQÂ
We are especially pleased to offer the most advanced cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) with the VetCATIQ. CBCT is especially valuable for diagnoses of periodontal disease and fracture and oral tumor surgical planning.
What does CBCT show that traditional dental radiographs cannot?
CBCT shows multiple planes of the structures of the head, teeth, and jaws that can be viewed from any angle vs. traditional dental x-rays, which cannot. Conventional dental x-rays produce a single flattened image. CBCT images can also create a 3D model, allowing superior visualization of tooth structure, bone, and complex anatomy. With CBCT, the exact thickness of bone and how close a root is to a vascular canal, nasal cavity, or another tooth root can be directly measured instead of being guessed. CBCT is ideal for visualizing joint anatomy such as the TMJ. Skull x-rays are inadequate for visualizing this complex anatomy. CBCT allows us to look inside the skull.
