This continued education lecture will discuss:
Fun with ECGs
The ECG is an important tool important for monitoring the cardiovascular status of patients under general anesthesia. A basic understanding of the ECG is critical for timely and accurate interpretation of arrhythmias. This lecture reviews the components of the normal ECG and then focuses on how to identify common arrhythmias encountered in anesthetized and sedated patients.
Avoiding the Ups & Downs with CRIs
Achieving appropriate patient depth with minimal physiologic impairment is the most challenging aspect of anesthesia, especially when performing more invasive procedures. The administration of constant rate infusions (CRIs) is one strategy for improving anesthetic depth without excessive side effects. This lecture discusses the advantages of CRIs and how to easily incorporate CRIs into your anesthetic protocols for optimal administration.
