Dog & Cat Veterinary Dentist in Carefree, Arizona
Board Certified Veterinary Dentists®
Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery for Animals, led by Dr. Wingo and Dr. Jucan, is a state-of-the-art dental and oral surgical practice. Our Board-Certified Veterinary Dentists® have extensive and advanced training in veterinary dentistry, oral surgery, and anesthesia, and can treat various dental conditions that affect cats and dogs.
Cleaning with Anesthesia
We offer routine teeth cleanings with customized anesthetic protocols for each individual pet patient. Our team of veterinary dental specialists begins with an examination, followed by pre-anesthetic lab tests to assess the overall health of your pet, followed by taking x-rays and a CAT scan image of your pet’s teeth, before beginning with the anesthetized dental cleaning. By using anesthesia for your dog or cat’s dental cleaning, we are able to clean just under the gum line, as well as scale and polish your pet’s teeth. Our dog and cat teeth cleanings are an important aid in preventing or controlling periodontal disease.
Oral Surgery
In addition to veterinary teeth cleanings, we are also trained in cat and dog oral surgery and can help pets who have experienced maxillofacial trauma, jaw fractures, oral tumors, dislocated haws, or palatal defects.
EXCELLENT Based on 125 reviews Posted on Gabrielle ConnellyMarch 19, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Jucan and the entire team here are truly phenomenal. From the very first interaction, it was clear how much empathy and genuine love they have for animals. As someone who considers their pet family, that means everything. You can feel that no one here ever wants your baby to experience even the slightest discomfort. Their communication is exceptional—everyone is kind, personable, and incredibly understanding—but what stands out most is how deeply they care about your pet. Dr. Jucan is fully invested in finding the best possible path forward, ensuring our Thor has the happiest and most comfortable life despite his condition. Her passion for helping animals is unmatched. The entire team is amazing. Karen and Stephanie have gone above and beyond, making this not just a positive experience for our baby, but for us as well. That level of compassion is rare. Five stars, without a doubt. Thank you all so much!Posted on Sheryl StilesFebruary 20, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Wingo and staff took good care of my 15 YO mini poodle mix a year ago this month. My poor pup had something in his turbinate which destroyed bone. This was found when I took Buddy in for a cleaning as he was clearly having issues and I knew it was dental. It was rough time for Buddy, but they have an anesthesiologist who kept my senior dog safe. Buddy is now about a year post op and even with the loss of upper fangs and turbinate reconstruction he is finally free of face pain. I wish I had come here first many cleanings ago. This Dr is a skilled surgeon and trains others. It’s worth the drive if you have a senior dog or need something serious done. I later brought my other dog 17 YO mini poodle in and fortunately they just needed only a cleaning. Dr Wingo saved Buddy’s life. The infection in his turbinate destroyed his upper teeth, and would have taken him over the rainbow bridge had he not had this surgery. Buddy is now 16 YO and plays again and eats with a big appetite, of course we are now on canned food only the rest of his life as his upper front teeth are gone. He is all healed and I have my loving pup with me.Posted on Hannah DeSpainJanuary 29, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If I could give Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery 10 stars I would! My 12-year-old Chiweenie needed multiple dental extractions and a deep cleaning, which I kept putting off due to her age and mitral valve disease. This facility put me at ease, due to having an anesthesiologist who is trained in putting medically compromised patients under. Dr. Jucan and her team were amazing and took care of my girl like she was family from pre-op to post-op. Karen at the front desk knew I was anxious about the anesthesia, so she kept me updated the entire time she was under and is so kind. I would highly recommend this facility, especially if you are hesitant to put your pet under anesthesia for dental work, because they will be in the best hands. After one week post-extractions, Lola was back to her normal self and pain free, thanks to Dr. Jucan!Posted on jamie larsonJanuary 27, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My puppy had been bit by another dog and was hurt badly. Everyone at Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery treated us with the utmost kindness and got me and my puppy through one of the toughest days. Every member of their team came together to help my puppy. He's on the mend and I'm forever grateful for all the help you've been to me and my family.Posted on Angela ClarkeDecember 31, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The whole team is amazing! Made me feel safe leaving our sweet Morty with them. The front desk ladies are welcoming and kind, kept us informed the whole time of the procedure. Nurse Carly is sweet and compassionate. Dr. Kipp Wingo has a genuine caring, compassionate, kind heart. He is very knowledgeable and you can tell he does this for the right reasons, for our fur babies. When he explained the process it felt honest, hopeful, and was easy to understand what he was saying. I would 100% recommend them all to anyone and everyone.Posted on Joe MarinoDecember 20, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr. Magnolia Jucan, Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery, as well as her entire staff treated our senior cat today. Dr. Jucan and her staff were MOST excellent in absolutely every single aspect of our treasured pets procedure. Courteous, respectful, efficient, organized, knowledgeable, detail-oriented and deeply compassionate are just a few of the key words describing the care that they provided so exceptionally. We feel very blessed and thankful! We profoundly recommend Dr Jucan and Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery!Posted on Nicole ZacantiDecember 19, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team at Carefree Dentistry and Oral Surgery are simply the best! I felt so supported from the time I scheduled the appointment through picking up my kiddo from a major surgery. Dr. Young went out of her way to check on us and that meant everything to me, I knew I wasn’t in this alone and had her support no matter the time or day. 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
