forward-thinking education designed for today’s dental and medical prof
essionals. Whether you're looking to sharpen your skills\, connect with co
lleagues\, or simply enjoy high-quality learning in a breathtaking setting
\, this event delivers an unforgettable experience.\n\nEngaging speakers.
Fresh insights. An extraordinary atmosphere.\n\nMartin Kennedy\, DVM\, DAC
VAA\nTopic: Anesthesia for Patients with Comorbidities\nEvery patient unde
rgoing general anesthesia is likely to experience some degree of hypotherm
 ia\, hypoventilation\, bradycardia\, and/or hypotension due to the drugs r
equired to produce this state of CNS depression and immobility. Patients w
ith significant comorbidities are also at risk of experiencing additional
complications because of their pre-existing disease. Appropriate anestheti
c drug selection is important for minimizing morbidity and mortality in th
ese patients\, however optimal patient preparation and anesthetic manageme
nt will ultimately have the most significant impact on outcome. Being awar
e of the optimal conditions for a given comorbidity is critical to maximiz
 ing safety in the perioperative period.\n\nMagnolia Jucan\, DVM\, DAVDC\nT
opic: Feline Stomatitis - From Diagnosis to Therapy\nIn this talk we will
touch upon the etiology and pathogenesis of feline stomatitis\, followed b
y discussing the clinical presentations and diagnostic pathways. We will c
onclude with a detailed overview of the treatments available and an update
on the advances in stem cell therapy.\n\nPatrick Vall\, DVM\, DAVDC\nTopi
c: Systemic Impact of Periodontal Disease: What Goes On In Gingiva Doesn't
Stay in Gingiva\nPeriodontal disease is easily the most common disease se
en in veterinary medicine\, but the most undertreated. Plaque bacteria set
off an inflammatory cascade from a robust immune response that has the go
al of dental exfoliation (tooth loss). This reaction leads to continued pa
in and infection that is not confined to the oral cavity but has wide rang
ing systemic ramifications. It has been well documented in humans and pets
that periodontal disease causes negative changes in the heart\, liver and
kidneys. As periodontal disease worsens\, these negative tissue changes w
orsen. How do we intervene? How do we communicate this to our pet owners?
How do we alleviate the infection\, inflammation and pain in our patients.
This presentation will focus on all these key points in dealing with this
  all to common disease.\n\nGwenn Schamberger\, DVM\, DAVDC\nTopic: X-Ray V
ision Evolved: Comparing Cone Beam CT and Conventional Radiographs for Sup
erior Veterinary Dental Care\nDental imaging plays a critical role in diag
nosing and managing oral disease in general practice. This lecture will co
mpare conventional dental radiographs and cone beam CT (CBCT)\, focusing o
n how each modality contributes to case detection\, treatment planning\, a
nd referral decision-making. Attendees will review common clinical scenari
os where traditional radiographs are effective\, as well as cases where CB
CT can reveal pathology that may otherwise go undetected. This session aim
s to expand awareness of available imaging options and help veterinary tea
ms better recognize when advanced imaging and referral may benefit their p
atients.\n\nDon’t miss your chance to be part of our most exciting sympo
sium yet.\n\nLocation: Musical Instrument Museum (Founders Room)- 4725 E M
ayo Blvd\, Phoenix\, AZ 85050\n\nBreakfast will be served: Assorted Breakf
